Eyelets r us - Frequently Asked Questions:
Each curtain should have an even number of eyelets so they hang correctly. The spacing is dependant on the eyelet size. Generally, for 25mm the spacing between flanges is approx 7cm (~2.5 inches), 40mm at approx 10cm (4 inches) between flanges (approx 16 to 17 cm between centres) and 66mm at around 14 cm between flanges (5.5 inches apart.) Maximum eyelet spacing is dictated by distance from wall to pole. Distance from top hem is usually 2.5 - 5 cm (1" to 2".) Please note that these measurements are a guide only and may vary a cm or two either way. NEW - Check the eyelets r us "Curtain Calculator" - this works out the number of eyelets you will need and the measurements between them. Rule of thumb is your ideal eyelet diameter is curtain pole diameter + 10mm.. Do I have to mark the positions of the Eyelets? You can do, no problem - but we usually do that. Do I need to cut the holes for the eyelets? No, we do that. We have precision tooling which cuts holes of exactly the right size. Do I leave the top of my curtains unfinished? No, the tops should be finished. Yes we can. If in doubt, send us a swatch and we can punch a sample for you. Do my curtains need eyelet tape? No. Do my curtains need header tape?
